4 Quick Marinades for Chicken That'll Blow Your Burger Recipes Away!
When you only cook on the weekends it can be easier to buy a rub, or cook a burger, than it is to make your own marinade.
Not everyone has the palette to be a grill master!
But here are some easy marinades that make chicken exciting without making it complex.
🐔 Make sure the chicken is 🌡️ 165F before you eat it.
No 1 - Ponzu and Spring Onions
This is a sour, but not too sour tasting marinade. It's mellowed by rice vinegar and soy sauce. It smells insanely good as it cooks.
Method
🍳 In an oven proof dish, add chicken and 2 cups of ponzu. Sprinkle with green (spring) onions.
No 2 - Cider Vinegar and Garlic Powder
Cider vinegar is the new weight loss miracle shot. I never lost any weight eating this, but it is no-fuss.
Method
🍳 Coat the chicken in garlic salt and place in an oven proof dish. Add lashings of cider vinegar (you're not eating the vinegar). Oven cook!
No 3 - Lemon Rosemary and Olive Oil
This is a 30 minute marinade that you can make in a plastic bag. It's delicious every time and it smells great if you empty the contents of the bag onto the grill and let them all cook together.
Method
🍳 Add half a cup of olive oil, 1 sliced lemon and a couple of twigs of rosemary to a plastic bag. Add your chicken ( swish it around) and marinade for 30 minutes.
No. 4 - Garlic and Sherry
This is a great Spanish recipe! I used several types of sherry while cooking. I had the remnants of a Sherry Fino in my drinks trolley and I also had some cooking sherry in the cupboard.
I used the good sherry for the char and when it was time to finish the chicken in the oven, I doused it with the cooking sherry. :-)
Garlic is hard to chop, so either get a garlic press or buy a big tub of already chopped garlic and keep it in the fridge.
Method
🍳 Two steps! ✔️ Char the garlic smothered chicken in the cast-iron pan (use 2 deciliter olive oil, 1/2 dl sherry, 6 husk on garlic cloves). ✔️Finish in the oven (350F).
